When empire came out people said the book was terrible. Now that some people have had a chance to play them:
1. Is that still true
2. What units are useless
3. What units are overpowered
4. What units are a must
5. How do they compare to other armies

1. it was never true. they were haters.
2. no units are USELESS, they all have a use.
3. non are overpwerd as such, as all armies with an 8th book will have similar styled units (except orcs)
4. people will say Monstrous cavelry, but i win games without them.
5. a decent question. they are Mid level. but as they are the base stat line. theyre a Jack of all trades, good at all, great at non.

I agree with every single thing said above, with the exception of #4: i believe warrior priests are a must... plus, I never lost a battle because of a lack of demigryphs...

No. It wasn't true then either. Empire is fine.

That is a baited question methinks. None of the units are USELESS. Some however are more useful overall.

When did the Empire have something that was overpowered besides 6th edition Stanks?
4. What units are a must
The more compulsory options are at least 1 Hurricanum and some Demigryph knights since they got a major boost in the latest FAQ. That doesn't mean they are a must, just that many builds utilize both of those.
5. How do they compare to other armies
They are middle of the road, like they have always been and always will be. Empire is not meant to be a power army. They have strong builds, and weak builds. Nothing really over the top or broken. They are probably the most versatile army around.
