Hi Guys,

If I have sternguard armed with stormbolters, can I still use special issue ammunition?

I can't find anything that says you can't, only that when using the special ammo it replaces the boltgun profile. I know combi weapons can use it, but just hoping to get some stormbolter loving.

Cheers

No, the FAQ says bolters and combi-bolters only.

That's your first problem. You'll never (well, rarely) find rules on what you can't do. It is a permissive ruleset, which means you can't do anything it doesn't tell you that you can do.

Yeah, I figured 20 kraken bolts from 5 marines was too much to ask for!

How'd you get 20 shots from 5 guys with a gun that gives them 2 shots each?

Storm Bolters are not Rapid fire weapons, they are assault weapons.

Yeah I see the error of my ways now. I'm pretty new to the hobby and I'm still trying to absorb the masses of info in the rulebook.

Thanks for the info though.
