Right then I thought it was about high time I started my Adeptus Custodes Army Log, Im already part way into it and am developing the list as I go, I decided to develop this army as it has always been a dream of mine since I started 40k a long time ago, and after a 5 year plus break from it Im now back with the capital I need to produce such a force, Im working closely with Mike at Golem Painting to assist in this project as my brush skills are not up to much at all, however, I will be doing a majority of the conversions myself as this is what I enjoy the most!

The main part of the force will be built using Scibor miniatures as I love the look and feel and scale of them for such a force, and will be adding parts to help them look more custodian, and not using the special weapons that come with some of the models but instead using halbeards as that is what they traditionally use. (im not sticking completely with the fluff and i shall explain below)

Using this artwork for reference and colour scheme I have worked closely with mike at golem painting and have started with the big boy, the emperor of mankind, he has been ordered and Im waiting for him to be delivered so they can get him painted and done.

When The models have been completed they will get a post with there pictures, and a link to what models Ive used, and all comments will be welcomed

So then now for the main part the fluff and list so far.

FLUFF:
Right i know that the emperor is stuck in his golden throne on terra and that the custodes never leave terra, but thats boring for the most blinged out guys in the imperial, So I have decided that my force will be a little task force that uses a genetic clone of the emperor to lead them and that the main characters are also off with this expedition to help bring the force of the emperor down on those who stand in the way. this mean Im limiting the size of the force before I go too large and also wish to develop small amount of marines/guard from a few little chapters or maybe just one to go with them.

So after ordering the emperor and 10 custodes through Golem Painting I decide to try sculpting my own Emperor, and this is how it all got underway:

The details were blured and the panel was far to big for the mini... So I decideed with this boosting my confidense to go ahead and develop more panel molds, this time I drew them on paper cut them out and test fitted, I then made the molds and baked them, and after many hours here is the results of the first batch of panels, I only made one mold for the leather tabards so thats why there is only one, and I made the rope by hand, im still missind the required face section to go on the knee but im still trying to decide my path to the completion of this model, anyway here is a couple of shots of the leg that has been done:



So after this I went on to produce more parts and details for the model and came up with this:


and I developed the body as well:


After this I felt I needed to see what he would look like as a complete human, so I used whitetac to build him:



and the back with large gaps but there is details remaining to be done:

So after this I noticed i needed a couple of extra bits so I got hold of them and built the rest of the model, so here is my first completed sculpt in 5 years or more:








So that is the full project from start to finish of the emperor, a friend is currently painting him in NMM so will see how that develops, Ill post about the Golem updates shortly in a separate comment

Okay then so that was my own personal emperor, now moving on happily to the custodes, I got a test model off golem the other day and this was the result:


Now bear in mind golem seem to be using a 2004 Kodak 5mp camera, which for a professional company is very poor, and thus they have poor quality photos so Im hoping they will look much better when they get here, but here is the rest of them after they completed the job, there are still a few outstanding amendments coming tomorrow but then they should be good:






So that is it so far! ill post pics of the finished artical once I get the email with the pics on and then when they are here if they do look a lot better ill take some real pictures!
