(apologizes if you saw the other one it is separate and i figured merging the 2 would get diminished results)

I have a friend considering starting a black templar army, I would like to hear what would make some decent selections for a viable force for low to mid point games. He would be playing with some minor restrictions such as no hq over 125 pts till a certain point, and no singular model over 150 pts or having an army value of 12 or high (these are lifted after we break 750 pts and the league goes up to 1000 pts and then resets)

So i was hoping i could get a synopsis of how Black templar rates "tier wise" as well as good models and tactics you could all suggest. Thanks

For lower point-scale I would recommend:

Marshal for HQ (provides Ld 10 to everyone)

Typhoon speeders (cheap dual missile launchers)

5 man initiate squad with single heavy weapon (cheap lascannons)

Bigger initiate squads + neophytes for assault blobs

An Aegis Defence Line with quad-gun to provide cheap anti-air and 4+ cover save for heavy weapon squads

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Once the point scales go up I would start investing in termies (dual heavy weapons) and assault termies.
