As the title states, I have an idea for a Steampunk themed Ork clan of my own design. I have some ideas in my head on how to go about adding the "Steampunk" flare to the bases but the models I can not come up with anything and that is why I am starting this thread. I am looking for ides from my fellow forum goers. Please feel free to post and all ideas you might have for how to add this kind of flare to my Ork models. Thank you for any and all ideas and thank you for your time.

Exauhst pipes, cogs and gears, lots of brass, and some indutrial age clothing. google Steampunk weapons under images and you get some good ideas, with plastic card anything is possible. If you go to a hobbie store you can get gears and cogs for i think scrapbooking... dont quote me on that. Also RC car gears work well also.

Here is a cool image that took me 5 seconds on goodle to find. Plenty of resources.

Most ork machinery already has a steam-punk compatible look, as far as technology level goes. Certainly you can boost it further by making more stuff look steam-powered (lots of tiny chimneys and boilers and brasswork), e.g. a steam-powered kustom force field could look great.

If the actual Victorian aspect also appeals, you could have fun putting orks in top hats and waistcoats etc. If you just google images of Steampunk miniatures, you'll see what manufacturers are doing for (mostly) human figures - at least some of that would also be doable for orks, after a little greenstuff and paint.

you can get gears and watch coggs on ebay for next to nothing. but I agree with all the above ideas plus cyborg modifications would be easy with the steampunk theme.

1) Top hats and canes. Grots dressed as Victorian chimney sweeps. A warboss with a monical and a natty 'tash. Preferably looking like a stereotypical black and white film bad guy.

2) WHFB has allot of stuff that can be made very steam punk. Mod some empire steam tanks for wagons/trukks (I'm not sure about the size of them). The Dwarf Organ Gun and Cannon for grot artillery. Dwarf Flame Cannon attached to a buggy. Snottling pump wagon or the skaven Doom Wheel for buggys. Etc Etc.

3) As has already been said, warjacks for dreds. Also you could mod up some WHFB trolls with steam cybork stuff for dreds.

So many things you can do. Also, try the train section at your local hobby store. A few cheap trains can be pulled to bits for boilers and wheels.
I would be tempted to try and make some sort of land train with a huge boiler with orks hagging off and lots of splits and shoddy pipe work (Make it look like it is going to explode at any second) to use as a battle wagon to be the center peace of the army to really show off the idea and draw it all together. Something like Stevensons rocket, but built by an ork Mek (More guns and no idea about boiler safety. Think how funny it would be as an ork to see that explode in the middle of a big fight. Limbs and molten metal everywhere and a huge bang!)

I like the idea of the ork feeding wood or coal into his gun or other contraption...

Or a grot stoker frantically shovelling coal into the boiler of his ork master's steam-powered equipment? Steam trukks/buggies/wagons would all look very cool.

And I have a sudden urge to make steam-powered Mega-armour

This thought actually occurred to me not two days ago. Orks I believe will be easy to turn steampunk. Add chimneys to all vehicles, goggles, pouches, cogs, tools and a grimey look on the Orks themselves and I think you're well on your way!
