Each serephim is armed with 2 bolt pistols a piece. They can be upgraded to dual hand flamers or dual inferno pistols. In their special rules. Serephim pistols. If they are armed with 2 pistols they can fire both pistols and can fire no other weapons that turn. My question is can I fire both hand flamers. Question got brought up against me during a game because my opponent thought they were too powerful for their points. I deepstruck them in front of a mob of 30 ork shoota boyz and managed to get 2 in away after all the girls made it without a mishap. Fired faith point and got it. Fired all pistols. 4 flame templates ( 2 of them both having dual flamers) and Celestine with her ardent blade flamer. Managed 34 wounds after flame templates with re-roll failed to wound rolls and the orks being bunched up b2b. Did I play them right? Each flame girl gets 2 templates for having dual flamers with their special rule? Want to make sure I didn't cheat my opponent out of a kill point.

Another question is their ability to re-roll failed shield of faith, Celestine has the shield of faith rule and her invuln is 4+, could she get the re-roll as well while she is a part of that unit? I haven't played her that way. Just wondering what others thought

Well they are powerfull against orks yea, but if it was marines or even ard boyz not so much.
And yes hand flamers are piston and thus have the gunslinger rule.

Thanks for reassuring me. Thought I knew how to play them. My opponent didn't like it getting no saves at all. Against space marines they don't do as well for hand flamers. It kinda killed his spirit that a whole group was knocked out in one shooting phase from one unit.

Lesson learned for him. Don't bunch up against sisters.

and they can lay down the hurt on marines as well if they don't spread out. They will deal enough wounds out that they will be failing enough armor saves to become nearly useless.

With 34 wounds and marines having a 3+ save you would likely have wiped out a ten-man squad of marines too. Marines can't afford to get cocky just because the opponents have nice hair. ;-)

St. Celestine's 4+ Invul save comes from the Armour of Saint Katherine, not from her Shield of Faith, so no rerolls on her 4+ invul.

That's what I thought. Just re-reading the codex and saw that and wondered. Good thing I haven't cheated someone with that

Just keep in mind that you can't use a template if it hits a friendly unit. Sisters in the back cannot fire over the sisters in the front with the flamers.

True. I usually put my flamers in front during a deep strike facing the enemy in that circle thing they have to do if they don't mishap, and during that game I Had fewer models so it worked out to where she has the space needed.

Celestines 4+ invul comes from The Armor of St. Katherine, the re-foll failed invul rule (Angelic Visage) specifically only allows re-rolls for "Shield of Faith" invul which is 6+. Celestine also has the 6+ invul just in case a sneaky assassin shoots off her 4+.

And yes you can shoot both hand flamers because they are of the "pistol" class. You did it correctly and it looks like your opponent has more fear of the Sisters than before!

Yeah he doesn't like them at all now. Celestine and her crew killed 30 boyz and nob, 3 big guns, and 15 lootas in one game. Hit and run is amazing. Flame/shoot, assault. Hopefully stay in combat your turn. His turn fight and end of assault phase, hit and run, now it's back to your turn to flame/shoot assault again.

Although not RAW, I would let St. C reroll, however, she would not get the 4+ invuln, only the 6+. Similar to a model with a BS of 6+.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
