The banner on the captain stands out to me very well, the free handing is fine with me. im not the best of free handers so any free handing is probably better than mine.

Personally I see nothing with which to find fault, and the freehand looks better than some I've seen (including some of my own )

If you want a tip for freehand text, try gently writing in pencil first then going over it with the brush - the pencil gives more control and gives you guidelines to follow with the brush - it works for me !

Lookin good, I would say the faces need something, they seem a bit flat, maybe a wash or a highlight of some kind?

Thank you rogut and reaper. The pencil tip is a really good idea, I need to give my land raider a name (still thinking of one) so need to freehand that onto it, so will defo give that a go.

Not quite sure what to do with the faces (i.e colours to use) but I do need to make them have more of an impact, woud you say black wash them?

Thanks again

P.s reaper, upload some of your freehanding skills, I am curious to see if your just being kind to me haha.

For freehanding, I found that using a fine (very fine) tip pen works better than trying to use a brush. I've got some pics in my gallery if you want to see how it looks. I usually start with the first, last, and middle letter(s) and then fill in the rest, to keep the name as centered as possible. Mine aren't quite as good as Reaper's, obviously, but I think they look passing fair.

Everything else is great! You have really crisp colors and good metallics.

Your free handing on that raider is really good, I love your sniper camo, and the fact you took a pic with it outside haha.

Thanks for the tip Jim, someone has told me to pencil in the center letters first, and work outwards from the middle, I need to give my raider a name next so once my non creative brain kicks in and spits out a name for it, I shall try the tips given and show the end product off soon.

Thanks Jim, but I think you're selling yourself short - lettering on shoulderpads and greaves isn't easy but yours comes out well and I can read it (which is much better than most you see nowdays)

Thanks Mikey, as I said I plan in pencil first. Jim's tip about using pen is a good one, but some pens fade over time so I suggest experimenting first ( do a sample and leave it in sunlight for about a week to see what happens).

The Multicam Scout was initially done for a bet ( some fool bet I couldn't do it, and was nearly right - google Crye Multicam and imagine trying to paint it to scale . That little project nearly drove me nuts ! ) As you could probably tell from my gallery I like using the real world as a backdrop sometimes, but in this case it was "proof of concept" to win the bet .
