This should prolly be in the painting section, but I figured it would get more traction in here.

I am not much of a painter and I know neither one of these looks are the classic Imperial Fist colors but I think I am going to stick with one or the other.



The one on the left was washed in Casandora Yellow the one on the right Seraphim Sepia. I like the Seraphim Sepia it gives him sort of a weathered look, while the Casandora yellow is a bit brighter.

This does belong in Painting and Modelling.

But, I think both models lack depth.

There is no shading on the model, The purpose of washes is to add depth.

I'm pretty sure he was just testing out the colors to see which one he likes more. I would choose the darker yellow (sepia) for a Space Marine and the Casandora Yellow for something like an Eldar which often have bright vivid colors.

You might also consider Averland Sunset which is what I use for my Bad Moon Orks but that is a bit darker and almost looks orange in certain light.

I'd go for the sepia too. Don't think Imperial Fists are the ones that go for shiny.
