So got a tourny coming up in Feb but I will have to add a few expensive models to my collection to be able to do this so will proxy first to see how it runs.

Librarian, PA with Null Zone and avenger

10 Sternguard, 8 Combi plasma, 2 melta guns drop pod
10 Sternguard, 5 Combi Plasma, 3 Combi meltas, 2 melta guns, drop pod

10 Tactical squad, Multi Melta, Plasma gun, Combi plasma gun drop pod
10 Tactical Squad, Plasma Cannon (or ML), Plasma gun
6 Man Scout squad

3 Hyperios Air defence launchers
3 Hyperios Air defence launchers
2 Hyperios Air defence launchers

Thdunerfire cannon
Thunderfire cannon

I think it has a lot of first turn fire power, plan would be to whittle down troops with the thunderfire cannons, if its night fighting or they are behind a aegis (bar marines of course) use the str 5 ignore cover shots, or the str 6 for marines, any tanks should be gone to the metlas I have or the hyperios launchers any MEQ's would suffer a lot of plasma shots, or terminators/wraiths and will have to reroll their save, for nids probably rapid firing hell fire rounds or plasma rounds and take the hordes on with thunderfires.

For second turn, I would have another pod waiting to come in and the hyperios's should be able to take down two fliers a turn each, at the very worst making them evade and snap shot the next turn.

Yes I lack scoring troops both tac squads would probably be combat squadded, but given the amount of firepower I should be able to take down lots of troops.

Against demons, bah I have no idea on how to deal with flamer/screamer combos with all comer lists to be honest, it would be damage limitation

Opinions?, the hyperios are the models i would need to add, around 200quid plus for 8 of them, so not cheap!, but they are very effective ime.

Imperial armour aeronautica, basically krak missile launchers with skyfire and interceptor on a artillery base (automated so no crew though). 35 pts a piece, 1-4 for fast attack FOC

This sounds great.
I'd configure the Sternguard differently (err uniformly) just in case you want to combat squad them:

10 Sternguard, 5 Combi plasma, 3 Combi meltas 2 melta guns drop pod
10 Sternguard, 5 Combi Plasma, 3 Combi meltas, 2 melta guns, drop pod

I would be combat squadding them, I would rather have more plasma then meltas as plasmas can rapid fire, but the cost of a combi weapon for them is 5pts, the cost of a melta gun is also 5 pts, it gives them a little more punch after I have used the combi shot.

Have changed the list around slightly to get another scoring troop in and split the hyperios into 3 groups so I can interceptor more targets and wont be wasting 4 shots on something when hopefully 3 will do

I would be concerned that the list is not very mobile once the drop pods are down. That could be a problem when it comes to claiming objectives.

Plan would to be take out most of their scoring troops first turn, I am also taking a simular list to this but with pedro at 1850 to make the sternguard scoring. Testing that list out tonight hopefully

i would almost drop the Scouts and turn the Libby into Pedro. You gain an additional 3 troops possibly (I imagine you will combat squad them almost everytime).

I think Pedro works well with the Stubborn rule and allows for that backfield unit of Tac Marines to have a bump in CC potential.

7th Edition Tournament Record:

15-2

War in the Mountain GT: Best Overall, 6-0 Dark Eldar

Bugeater GT: 4th, Tournament Runner Up, 5-1 Dark Eldar

Wargamescon: 7th, Best Dark Eldar. 4-1

I would miss combat tactics for the sternguard though, they will most likey be charged turn after they pod down, if I loss a model or two I can let them fail and fall back a bit sometimes that can take me out of charge range. Plus I do like how null zone works with the sternguard, as it is cast in the shooting phase I can cast it the turn they drop.

I am going to trail dropping 2 sternguard from each unit to give me enough points to upgrade scouts into another tac squad, yes I lose the ability to combat squad which is a big deal but it gives me more staying power in the backfield
