In the warp, searching for Marbo

I really want to make a Take all comers guard blob army. Can y'all help me out with this?

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

If you want just infantry men then go for heaps of platoons and then on the normal squads give them all a lascannon and maybe a melta or a plasma. So you list would look something like:
PCS - 30pts
IG, lascannon, plasmagun - 85
IG, lascannon, plasmagun - 85
IG, lascannon, plasmagun - 85
IG, lascannon, plasmagun - 85
IG, lascannon, plasmagun - 85
... so forth.
Then that gives you enough lascannons to take care of AV14 and plasma for MEQs. Can chuck in a couple of meltas if you expect tanks to get close range. Then if you repeat this there shoud be enough lasguns to take care of any infantry but if you want insurance add in 4 flamers to the PCS. Or if that doesn't appeal just give them a lascannon and plasmagun again.
HQ wise a CCS or lord commissar would do. Mostly would be used for their Ld area so the commissar is probably better at that, unless you want the CCS for the extra weapons as well.
For 1000pts I reckon you could get 2 platoons like above and an HQ.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

So, you're saying that one should keep the squads separate rather than "blob" them up? Won't they be a bit fragile that way, especially with no Commissars and/or Voxes and/or Regimental Standard?
