Hello. You may call me Tim, Timmy, Timothy or Timmo. I'm new to the War40k hobby, having played the Dawn of War games but not really getting into the tabletop until recently.

About three or four years ago, I got Assault on Black Reach as a gift for graduating. While I painted up a few models, I never truly got into the hobby. Skip ahead to a few months ago. A family friend, and my current land lady, got me a massive gift. Because this, I now own:

Assault on Black Reach
Dark Vengeance <Limited Edition>
1 Dark Angels Veteran Kit
1 Sniper Scout Kit
1 Warhammer 40,000 Painting Starter Kit (5 more Dark Angels space marines there)

Needless to say, Dark Angels was my army pick. I went out and got the current Codex and began to work on my army, It was only recently (a week or two ago) that I discovered a new Dark Angels release. On one hand, I'm excited because some of the pictures I've seen look awesome. On the other hand, I'm a bit worried that some of the guys I already glued and painting will no longer be available in the new codex.

Now with that bit out of the way, time for the fun bit:
This is a bit I try to do on all forums I join. I list five things about myself. Up to you guys if you want to do the same. ^_^

1. I grew up, and still live, in San Jacinto, California.
2. My favorite food is anything with cheese.
3. My favorite soda is Lemon Lime (AKA Sprite, 7up, Siera Mist and so on). I can only drink clear sodas so this works.
4. My favorite drink of all time is Tea, preferably Green Tea with Ginseng.
5. I've been collecting and playing YuGiOh since it first came out.

Welcome to Dakkadakka! Your models should still be valid under the new Codex so I wouldn't stress it too much!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

All right! The wild Timmy was captured!

Welcome to Dakka!

I'd say hold off on new models so you can see which ones will be most useful in the next few years before committing yourself.

Since you already have AoBR, you can improve your collection by painting all those Marines in a Dark Angels scheme. Not all DA need to wear hoods and cloaks, right? I would also imagine the Termies and Dreadnought would look great painted in the colors of the Deathwing.

Good luck in 40k and have fun in the forums!

Is Kharn a Commissar that kills enemies or are Commissars Kharn wannabe's who don't have the balls to kill enemies?

I'm still painting up but basically I'm painting my Space Marines as 6th Company Dark Angels, the Termies being Deathwing and the Bikers are Ravenwing. The Dreadnaught is also painted up 6th Company, I thought only Venerables were Deathwing.

Welcome!
You will be able to use all of them fine, but you will need the new codex to play games with them in stores/at tournies, etc.
