In the shooting phase. I roll and use the ballastic skill for a given miniture to determine if they hit their target, then I use the shooting table, reroll and see it it wounds? I have the first rulebook I think and the rules are explained vaguely. It never says to roll to wound.

My girlfriend and I played a game this weekend. First scenario with the farmstead. I was rohan and she had the uruk-hai. I was crushed! The villagers smothered in the fire before I could get to them. My failure was trying to shoot too much. As calvary I should have just charged in and got into melee as soon as possible. It didn't help either that I lost every priority roll.

When shooting:

1) Pick a model to shoot with.

2) Declare its target.

3) Roll to hit (This is the model's 5+/4+/3+)

4) If there's cover, you have to roll to pass each piece of cover (If a tree obscures the target, you have to roll, on a 4+, the arrow goes on).

5) Roll to wound.

Exactly how we worked it out. Thanks for the clarification!
