I hope you don't draw any Daemon-heavy lists.

How do you plan to deal with with a few likely lists?
a) Feral Orks (heavy on the madboyz and Hugenormous squiggoths)
b) Armored Company
c) Armored Company (Eldar)

Not trying to disparage your list - as far as Grey Knights go, it's pretty solid (26 GK terminators, including Stern). But lacking much experience with them, I'm curious.

Grey Knights were my first army and if I used this list, I would auto-lose to any tank heavy Imp Guard, mech Tau or mech Eldar.

The Termie squads are too large, 5-6 is all you need.

You need dreds to give you las cannons.

Stern is a bad buy, take the generic BC instead and give him a psy-cannon (psy-cannons are the trick of the army).

Mech forces have a problem in that anything AV 12 or lower is vulnerable, Eldar especially. The only vehicles that give me fits are the Land Raider and the Monolith. I?ve been playing a similar list for a while now and an inability to kill AV 14 hasn?t kept me from wining.

Dreads are just too bleeding vulnerable I have a pair and have never really been satisfied with the return on investment. Horde armies scare me not as I would be better in both Dakka and choppy with 26 Str 6 power weapons and 2 str 6 force weapons.

The problem with going with more but smaller squads is that the officers cost 1.5 times that of a regular terminator and are required for each squad. I think I?m better off with a larger squad that can take a pounding and still be a scoring unit.

I see you took my advice on the AWC forums...

Some points on Stern:
#1 - don't forget about that re-roll. You get 1 re-roll in the movement phase, 1 in the shooting, and 1 in the assault phase. Of both yours and your opponent's turns. Use them wisely.

#2 - Also, don't forget that he's got the grimoire.

#3 - And especially don't forget that Stern has both hammerhand and holocaust. Most of the time you won't need either, but when you do, they'll be extremely nifty.

I forgot to post here Due to a scheduling problem I got to the event 20 min late and could not participate in the tourney. i Did play the ringer for the last 2 games.

The first fight was against a Korn Daemon bomb army. It was a very close fight but due to a tactical mistake on my opponent?s part (He threw his last icon into close combat with the grandmaster and his retinue in cover) He only got 4 of 5 blood thirster packs on the table. At the end of the day all my opponent had left was 4 rejuvenated thirster packs and no scoring units. He had a really good chance to win if instead of going into close combat he had simply run away from me with his chosen with jumpacs and played for table quarters. I lost Stern and 17 termies but won the game. Very enjoyable fight!.

The second fight was against IG a demolisher, a rus, two hellhounds, two sentinels w/ las cannons, a basilisk and a pile of troops and stormtroopers. I pretty much walked into him and gunned him down. The Rus lost its battle cannon on turn one and was immobilized. The Demolisher had shity dice all game and didn't cause a single casualty. It died to a rear shot on turn 5. Both hellhounds died in close combat when they got trapped against the board edge. All that was left at the end of the game was the basilisk. I only lost 5 troopers and 10 termies This was a good game but rather tenser than the fight against the Daemons as, to be honest, things went down hill from turn one for the IG player and never got any better. Still a most enjoyable opponent. .
