Simple question: Can you take Ahriman (or a Tzeentch sorcerer) to make Thousand Sons troop choices in an allied detcahment?

Seems to be lots of confusion surrounding this, as it says if you take either as a HQ choice in a PRIMARY DETACHMENT, then Thousand Sons count as troop choices, but says nothing about if you take them as an allied detachment.

An Allied detachment is not the Primary detachment.
So No.

Wow chaos cult allies just took a huge hit. Good catch. You cant field any csm elite's as troops per the CSM rulebook and the requirement for the lord to be in the primary detachment.

Yeah it sucks monkey balls. I feel like ragequitting on 40k now.

Can't you just take them as your primary detachment? Or is this for power gaming a Daemons list?
