Slippery Ultramarine Scout Biker

Evening all, today i will be starting a new thread about painting the two new Dark Angels characters and their Ravenwing buddy, Sammael on his lovely Jetbike.

First off i'll start off with the older of the three models - Sammael.

Overall this is a nice model and ignoring the few problems i had with gluing it together, it wasn't that hard a model to assemble. The one thing that did annoy me was that half of the finecast pieces looked to be made from an older finecast or just weren't cast that well. Not to say i had anything was missing they just seemed to be a of a darker finecast resin than the other parts. One thing i wish i had done was to put some vaseline on the flying base point before sticking it into the green stuff i had to put in the hole (probably should have just drilled a hole all the way in and then it would have been easier, duh). So once it's dry i have to decide if i want to try and pull it off.

Anyway he looks nice and i look forward to painting him, currently thinking of painting my Ravenwing not black

Next up is Asmodai...

This model was really easy to assemble and almost had no air bubbles. My only issue with the model is that there wasn't a big enough hole on the backpack for the peg on the back of the torso and so i had to snip most of it off. Other than that a great cast.

Here's Belial...

Again this was a relatively easy model to glue together though it had a few more air bubbles than Asmodai. As you can see from the picture his right arm is in a different position from the official GW pictures. The reason for this is quite simple, their version of how he stands looks awful and so i chose to alter it. Apart from that the only other thing i thought was interesting was the fact that there is no peg on either of his feet and so you have to use enough super glue to make sure he sticks to the base.

Next up i will be spray all three black and then start painting the metal colours onto them. There might be an update tomorrow evening otherwise there'll be on on Monday morning.

Enjoy

I have a blog, check it out - http://forthegloryofgorkandmork.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/tau-xv8-02-commander.html - brand new post 11/04/13
