I was curious if anyone had any recent experience with GW customer service in regard to a model that has gone from metal to Finecast?
I bought a metal miniature in a blister that has since been transferred to Finecast and the metal mini was missing a piece. Just curious if calling GW would do any good - if they would replace the missing piece with a Finecast piece - or if they're going to tell me that I'm out of luck.
Anyone have any experience with something like this?

I would recommend asking that to GW customer service.

I do actually. They should be able to help you, but it likely will not be a "Finecast piece" but rather a replacement model.

Thanks Kan. Do you still have to report the batch number, etc.? I kept the blister obviously, I was just curious if the steps have changed.

They probably have some of the metal minis lying around so they might send you a new mini just to get rid of them, but most likely you'll just get the missing piece.

I doubt that. I remember when Finecast was first getting rolled out that people who had purchased metal minis and called about problems reported getting Finecast replacements instead. Since then I'd imagine they've probably melted down all the old metal models that didn't sell that have since been replaced with Finecast.

Well, in the end that's really the best way to find out: call them and ask them. We can't really tell you what they will or won't do. I would personally lean on the side of saying no they won't send you metal replacements since I don't think they actually have any left. When something goes to Finecast that's that, you can't get it in metal anymore unless you find an independent retailer that still has them or go to eBay.

They may have some metal bits they have for such things, or left over bits of stock they can send you.
They may send you an FC bit.
They may send you a full FC replacement.
Either way you won't be "out of luck". They will do something I'm sure.

I think it is. Seems like the best place to ask GW customer service questions would be to GW Customer Service. It almost makes perfect sense.

When I made the thread, the point wasn't to ask "ZOMG, WHAT SHOULD I DO?". If my op was read fully, you'd see that I was asking if anyone had any experience with the customer service in regard to metal minies versus Finecast. I wouldn't even be asking if I wasn't planning to contact them.
That said, after contacting them, they are sending me all of the arms from the pack, in Finecast, I imagine. Didn't ask for a batch number or anything.

I read your OP fully. In the OP you asked if people had experience because you wanted to ask that quoted question above, which I responded to by saying it would be best to just contact customer service with that question.
However seeing that you have contacted them and your replacement are underway, I wish you luck and hope you get some non crappy replacement parts
