1d4chan on them, oh and spined ones and they're similar models:

Giant Chaos Spawn: Instead of being terminally useless like basic spawns, Giant Chaos Spawns have some nifty advantages: they're monstrous creatures with S/T6 and 4 wounds, they feel no pain and they have a 4+ armour save. The downside is that they're still slow and purposeful, cost 3 times more than a regular spawn and take up an elites slot. Autocannons and heavy bolters will ignore it's armour saves, but that's why it has FnP, which it can now use against almost everything albeit on a 5+.

You can use them in regular games or apocalypse. A novelty unit, which I'm guessing is probably only worth taking for fun (I have two along with a load of other "fun" units that rarely see the light of day. I think I've used them once or twice at the most in larger games).

Thanks, for 90. Points it could be worth. Sending one with my unit of spawn and lord. Do they use dreadnought sized bases? Sorry about my grammer, my phone tends to be glitchy.

Also what slot do they take? Fast attack?

I think that they're heavy support. The issue being that Heavy Support's quite bunched up as it is. (ack, or maybe elite according to that quoted page)

It does however mean that you can take a few of them and use the fast attack slots for the purpose of fielding loads of regular spawn.

Also, both giant, spined and regular spawn are really easy to convert. The big ones can be made out of the new Warriors of Chaos monsters if you want, or just a big lump of putty with tentacles and faces stuck on. I made ten spawn yesterday just out of odds and ends I had chucking about. =P

Haha nice, I got given an old dreadnought which is damaged to the point of being legs and a backplate. Im thinking of converting a giant spawn along the lines of pinky from doom, half a dread bonded to.it being dragged along.
