First up I am really sorry as this is probably the dumbest question ever but I just wanted to know how hive guards work...
Last I remember was my brother said they cant wound what they cannot see. is this still accurate?
I searched through Faqs and stuff but couldnt site the ruling I need.
Can they shoot through something like a building they cant see through? and still wound what they are shooting at?

If anyone could reference page numbers of faqs to help that would be super

After a big look through the rules the understaning I have come to is that RAI they can shoot and wound models through buildings, etc.
However RAW you can shoot through buildings but not wound models you cant see..
Seems like the general feeling is anyone playing these RAW is a jerk and should allow RAI but sometimes thats just not good enough for some people.

They have yet to FAQ those powers that can target units out of LOS to allow them to actually wound; that includes Grey Knights, Tau and Nid units.

RAW they cannot wound out of LOS, however I have yet to see anyone ever play it that way

Somewhere Ironic

I always figured the rulebook meant they need to be able to target the model to cause damage. There's no reference to line of sight in that rule (Out of Sight, page 16, BRB), just that it needs to be visible. Arguably, you can say your codex supersedes this ruling, as it says your Hive Guard's arrows do the "seeing", but short of an FAQ, you'll have to convince people quite a bit.

SHE-FI-ELD

I believe there is still some debate on RAW as Hive Guard rules do not stipulate its LOS ruling is in the 'to hit' sub phase, rather only applicable wording is 'Shoot/ing', Which one side argues does not include Wound allocation, while the other side argues Shooting Phase includes wound allocation.

While there is no FAQ or anything the intended ruling is blindingly obvios, In a friendly I suggests if anyone denies your allocating wounds you politely give them the game and never play with them again.

It's my codex and I'll cry If I want to.

Tactical objectives are fantastic
