Hello, its another air brush question

I am looking to replace my passche 2000VL double action siphon and was looking at the renegade Krome from badger

http://www.amazon.com/Badger-Air-Brush-RK-1-Additional-Regulator/dp/B0078MEXX8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Does anyone have an experience with it? As I want to be able to do relatively fine detail like cloaks and small pre shade detail on vehicles that my passche cant do with a .1 needle.

If anyone has pictures of its general capabilities would be nice too.

It is a fine airbrush and I would definetly recommend it. It is a sturdy airbrush and it can handle fine detail with the best of them. Check out my galley, most of the models were painted with my Krome.

i have 2 Krome's, although each Krome ships with 2 needles (fine and ultra fine) and you can change at your whim, i prefer having one of each all ready to go (one krome has fine, the other has ultra fine)

great airbrush, cant complain AT ALL.

Snake-eyes, everybody wins!! Oh, no, wait, my bad.. Oops..

Mine works really well. I would definately recommend it. Though you do need to practice exactly where that fine line really is for you. When you find it, the stop selection on the back can keep you from pulling back too far so you can make sure your lines stay thin (assuming you dont get to close/far away with the brush)

Best Airbrush on the market, in my opinion.

I'm a little confused at your first remark though - you have a 0.1mm needle and can't do detail work like pre-shading and cloaks?

Sounds like your mix/air pressure or technique that is the issue, not the airbrush.

Especially as the Khrome comes with a .21 and a .33 needle, which are larger than your current AB.

I am currently taking commissions.

I have tried to tune the PSI from 5 to 15 with milk like consistency but the spray pattern is always wide, even when you barely pull back the trigger for paint as it is duel action.

Is the one im using now.

how far away are you holding the airbrush from the model? that could be a big question here. too far away with any airbrush and you will spray wide. Dont be afraid to get closer with a detail brush with lower psi settings.

also you may think about what you believe is a fine line and what others believe. preshading does small lines, sure, but not ultra fine lines as the paint going over changes the look. Don't expect any airbrush, no matter how fine, to make lines fine enough to hard highlight without issues (spider webbing, etc)
