Came up in a game a few days ago between two friends of mine. There was a unit of d-cannon support weapons firing at some terminators, but there was a wall in between the two units. One of the d-cannons had partial LOS on the termi's, so he decided to direct fire, arguing that one having partial LOS meant that the whole unit could focus on his target. I looked over the rules for such and really couldnt figure out how it would work. If only one model in a unit of multiple barrage weapons has LOS can they all benefit from such, or should one use majority for it? I.e. since 2/3 of the unit lacks LOS would they all have to indirect? If there is any RAW about this, I cannot seem to find it in the barrage section in the BRB. Thanks in advance.

Unless I am mistaken, if the models are direct firing, each one of them uses true line of sight. (Meaning only the one with LOS could have fired directly.)

Direct or indirect would depend on the closest D-Cannon. If the closest D-Cannon has LOS, then the barrage is fired directly. If the closest did not have LOS then the barrage would be fired indirectly.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

With multiple barrages, the normal shooting rules are replaced with the blurb on page 34.

Only the first (closest) uses the normal rules, the rest don't scatter so as long as the first one has LoS it can fire directly.

The problem is it then speaks of 'each other Barrage weapon shot fired', which would imply they fire normally, i.e. are subject to indirect fire if they don't have LoS.

But, the multiple barrage rules only require you roll a scatter dice by itself, so it doesn't matter you can't subtract the BS from the scatter distance. Because there is no scatter distance rolled for to start with.
