So I've been looking through the Khaldor units, and I cant figure out what I would do about Kayazy with Iron Skin. Ranged Def 17 with Stealth is hard, but not impossible to hit with Cygnar thanks to the B13/Gun Mages. However, once they are in melee, they are now at Def 19 with the underboss. What then?

You cant countercharge them with Stomblades, as they wont hit. You could Black Penny 2-3 of em per turn, but they are killing you at the time. Any other option that's not a 12 pt warjack?

Don't let them get in to mellee?

Cygnar has very little difficulty dealing with high DEF, low ARM infantry at range, Gun Mages with Deadeye, Chain Lightning, Triangulations, Mage Storm, pCaine's feat, etc.. just choose one of them.

Yeah, I was more thinking melee. Even without anything special, gunmages at range should kill most of them, but it only takes a couple of em in melee to really mess the gunmages in return.

I am now thinking the Ironclad is an obvious choice there. Most lists already run one version of it, and you could quake first to knock em down, and then proceed to kill them while they are prone with whatever troop they were engaged with.

I'm going to have to agree with not letting them get into melee as your options dwindle once they get there. If only one of your models is engaged with them, you can always chain lightning it in the back or something. Off the top of my head, it's that or slam your own stuff over them. Covering fire is also your friend here, as kayazy die if they take a pow12 without tough

In melee, I would have to say that the ironclad/something with tremor is a good bet, just make sure to have one of your models or a lower defense model near you so that you're not needing 12s to hit with it.

From 3++

2 problems with this:

1st: You'd still need to roll above their DEF 19 to knock them down with Tremor;
2nd: Tremor also knocks down your own models so you need to be careful with your order of activation.

Minutemen and lightning generator/chain lightning effects eat low arm troops alive. Stormsmiths can pick off single kayazay without worrying about stealth or def.

If you play constance then gallant is your answer. With purgation on him he hits assassins on just about average rolls.
You may also want to look into harlan varsh. He has blessed and purgation on all of his weapons so not only does he ignore iron flesh it actually makes it easier to hit them. The only thing you need to do is get him within 5" and you can count on 3 or 4 dead assassins that round.

Another thing would be cyclones, you can deny them their direct approaches to combat and force them to take more shots from gunmages et al

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Dont Forget Covering Fire from a Cyclone + B13 Template.

You can make a large field that cant be crossed easily to allow more shooting time.

arced chain lightning.

run a stormcaller up to the squad, and shoot him in the back with chain lightning, and it'll arc to d6 kayazy. he's immune to it so he'll be fine.

run stormstriders too. anything that can arc pow10 lightning. it murders light infantry.

shoot them. you've got enough dead eye, and sacrifice movement for +2RAT shenanigans and stealth ignoring trickery to make it a non event. def17 isnt unassailable.

stop them going where they want to go. covering fire templates from the stormwall, or the hammersmith. heck, even minutemen will frag them given half a chance.
