Problem is I don't have enough Chimera's on the field to stop them being a problem, the whole point of the infantry platoon is to have more scoring units on the table. The infantry squads would be in the Vendetta's and jump down turn 4 or 5, then the Platoon Command would just sit at the back firing. Wanted to have a CCS in a chimera and a PCS in a chimera but didn't have the points... Any ideas?

The second ones good. I can see why you were unhappy with the original one since it had a PBS that couldn't use its powers out of its chimera.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

Actually they can use all their powers out of a chimera.

FAQ:

Q. Can a model use a psychic power that is not a
Psychic Shooting Attack if it is embarked in a
transport vehicle?
A. Yes. If the power requires line of sight, this is
still worked out from the vehicle’s fire points
(this will count as one model shooting through
that fire point if the power is used in the
Shooting phase).
If the psychic power does not require line of sight
and has a range or an area of effect that is
normally measured from the model using it, these
are measured from the vehicle’s hull, as
explained in the Embarking section on page 66.



As Soulstorm and Weaken Resolve are listed as 'Psychic Powers' in the Imperial Guard codex they can be used. Some people seem to think this negates it:

Q: Can models embarked upon a vehicle use its fire points to draw line of sight to a unit to use special rules or wargear (other than shooting)? (p66)
A: No.



However the Imperial Guard codex clearly doesn't say Weaken Resolve or Soulstorm is a special rule, it is a power.




THEN i just read this rule:

Q: Can Psykers use a Transport’s Fire Point(s) to manifest powers
that require line of sight whilst still embarked? (p78)
A: No. Note, however, that witchfire powers specifically allow
you to do so and are the one exception to thisrule.



Which sucks... :/
