Hi Guys, Long time reader first time poster.

Its been a year or so since i started to collect and build my army and recently my opponent has changed from Eldar (was getting my ass kicked) to Tyranid (Did better against them) and now he will be fielding Tau as his main army.

We play 2000 point battles, So far we have been playing Annihilation setting up on opposite table edges, going forward we will most likely be playing Annihilation but i think Night Fight Rule will be an option.

So i come to you all for help on my list (not necessary anti Tau but that would help) P.S No idea what units he will be fielding but I think it will be mechanized if that helps - never played against Tau before.
List below comes to 1970 points

HQ
Captain Cato Sicarius
Chief Librarian Tigurius

Elites
Sternguard Veteran Squad (4x Veteran + 1x Sergeant) + Drop Pod
Sternguard Veteran Squad (4x Veteran + 1x Sergeant)
Terminator Assault Squad (6x Terminators + TH/SS) (will need to proxy my normal Termies for Assault Termies)

Troops
Scout Squad (4x Scout + Cloaks + Combat Blades + 1x Sergeant + Melta Bombs + Teleport Homer)
Scout Squad (4x Scout + Cloaks + Sniper Rifles + 1x Sergeant Telion)
Scout Squad (4x Scout + Cloaks + Sniper Rifles + 1x Sergeant)
Tactical Squad (9x Space Marine + Meltagun+ Sergeant + Melta Bombs + Teleport Homer) attached to Captain Cato Sicarius

Heavy Support
Devastator Squad (4x Missile Launcher + 1x Sergeant)
Predator (Lascannons + Twin-Linked Lascannons)
Predator (Lascannons + Twin-Linked Lascannons)

My thoughts behind this army list was to use the scouts with bladed and the tactical squad with Captain Cato Sicarius to infiltrate with homers so that i can drop the terminators in depending on how the field turns out
Hiding my Whirlwind at the back with the devastator squad and move my predator in
And gating the librarian into smite range or curse range

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read all this : )

Edited my List above to reflect Backspacehacker & phoenix darkus comments - Thank you again, a couple units will need to be proxied - I prefer WYSIWYG but what can you do : )
Will update you how it goes when i run this army : )

i would drop the whirlwind and take something else, maybe like another pred or a thunderfire cannon

To many unpainted models to count.

Just wanna point out that Tigurius knows ALL the codex powers, you get to use 3 each turn.

Your overall tactics seem good but I would tweak a few things:

-take the meltagun for your tactical (since you're infiltrating, good way to pop a tank quickly)
-your devastators are hanging back? Give them long range guns! Lose the HBs and MMs for some MLs
-lose all the HK missile and storm bolter upgrades and as mentioned get another pred or TFC
-since you don't really have any CC units you may want to consider TH/SS termies.

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.

Well Guys, finished my match. We rolled Mission 3 - Big Guns Never Tire.

Mistakes were made but i think this list worked 5 victory points vs 6 for the Tau

Only coz he was on 2 markers and i was on 1
I had first blood and a heavy Unit though.

I will be modding it for the next run.
