Irked Necron Immortal

Washington, USA

The Plan:
A necron army of some sort with Tau allies consisting of 2 groups of fire warriors with markerlight drones, an ethereal, and three rail broadsides with as many missile drones as can be crammed in.

The Question:
Isit worth it to spend the extra 50 points to add 2 Shas'uis with the target lock/markerlight combo? 6 markerlight shots going out is better then 4, all of which would be going towards the broadside units shooting. As a Necron, 50 points doesn't go that far (maybe missing out on an extra cryptek or a few warriors), but is it worth the cost at all? If I reall wanted markerlights, I could swap in a pathfinder team.
Thanks for any and all replies.

I'm not entirely sure, but iirc shas'ui with target lock can (obviously) shoot at a different target than the fw unit, but the drones (having not target lock nor split fire themselves) have to shoot at the same target as the rest of the squad.

Pathfinders or gun drones with a shas'o with drone controller are a much better bet.

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

It's not worth it for a few extra BS3 markerlights and definitely no replacement for pathfinders or the markerdrones.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."
