I'm playing a 1500 point match against Lizardmen soon, and I just have a few questions;
- In 1500, what should I do for my lord/hero allowance? Just one tooled up wizard, or a wizard/combat character?
- Are 20 marauders worth taking, or should i just use the points elsewhere?
- Is a hellcannon worth it, or should I go with 3 Juggernauts instead?

Generally for almost any army i play I try to take a lv4 and a bsb. sometimes I will take others but those are the ones i find the most useful.

I find a level 2, with skull and crown of command is more useful than a bsb. I really like hellcannons, skullcrushers are also great. I think marauders are a waste - especially since 1 block of warriors could fill your core points.
If you go with skullcrushers, I'd take 4, but a hellcannon and some nurgle knights would rock too.

Marauders are a rather weak choice, I'd rather stick with Chariots.
The most succesful list I have recently seen had, iirc, 13 (THIRTEEN) chariots.

Against Lizardmen, your General should definitely be a Level 4 Wizard. You can be almost sure your opponent will be packing one, so you need that +4 to Dispel so you're not completely vulnerable to their Magic.
As for Heroes, at 1500 points, you'll want a BSB as well.
After that, no other characters are necessary and I'd actually stick with just those characters at 1500. Getting to 2000+, I'd perhaps throw in a Level 1 or 2 Wizard, or maybe a fighty character, depending on the army.

I second the call for a level 4. Otherwise you will be at the LM players mercy during the magic phase (particularly his). Even at 1.5k, he's almost assured to have a Slaan - might not be a super tooled up one, but you can still make a dangerous slaan at this point level.
