In flying to NY and will be taking my 2 40k armies with me and was curious how others do it. Does anyone fly with theirs? If so, can you take them as a carry on? If not, how do you pack and check them? Anyone just say forget it and mail them to their destination?

i have a Sabol Army Transport that i've travelled with for 10 years...
it fits in the overhead...
i carry that, and my regular backpack, onto every flight...

stuff like Exacto knives and paints go in the checked luggage...
never had a problem with any of that down in the hold, but super glue does like to explode (on the rare occasion), so i put that in its own baggie...

cheers

Yes. Even Dark Eldar and Chaos, with all their pointy bits.

Just as a precaution, every airline that I've been on has stated "no paints" allowed on board the plane, regardless. However, when I inquired further, it seems that this doesn't apply to watercolor, they're referring to the kinds of paints that can be toxic or flammable in its not-dry state. But just double-check before you fly.
