I have just recently started warhammer 40k and have been reading up on diferent tactics trying to compile my own list for my Nurgle Chaos. I would like some input on my army so that I can build it to the best it can be.
Here is my list:

HQ
Typhus 230 points

Troop
Plague Marine(7 units 2 plasma gun, Veteran of the long war, Rhino) 240 points
Plague Marine(7 units 2 plasma gun, Veteran of the long war, Rhino) 240 points
Plague Zombies(20 units) 90 points
Plague Zombies(20 units) 90 points

Fast attack
Chaos Spawn(Mark of Nurgle) 36 points
Chaos Spawn(Mark of Nurgle) 36 points

Heavy
Obliterator(2 Units) 152 points

Ally
HQ
Epidemius 110 points

troop
Plaguebearer of Nurgle(Plagueridden) 90 points
Plaguebearer of Nurgle(Plagueridden) 90 points
Plaguebearer of Nurgle(Plagueridden) 90 points

total:1494

I was also thinking of only taking 2 plaguebearers in my ally unit and doing a great unclean one as the HQ.
advice? hints? tips?

Epidemus does not buff plague marines anymore, fyi incase you planned it to.

Well, you've got lots of bodies, but you're incredibly slow. With your Rhinos being your only vehicles they're going to last about 5 seconds.

I can imagine this list slogging across the board and holding objectives, but many shooting armies will be able to blow you off of them in time to nab them on turn 5 because you have what i would decribe as a very low threat level. You're resilient yes but what in your army makes the opponent say "Oh feth I have to destroy X now!"

I don't even need to play the jeopardy music, the answer is nothing. Typhus is presumedly going to be in one of the Rhinos but we already went over the fact that they're going to be stranded in the middle of the board (if you're lucky enough to get that far) on T1.

Personally, I don't like cookie cutter lists, with x3 Helldrakes and what not, so how about this Nurgle themed list with some Daemons sprinkled in since you let us know you're open to that:

Typhus
Great Unclean One

x60 Plague Bearers
Plague Marines x7 with 2 Plasmaguns in Rhino
Plague Marines x7 with 2 Plasmaguns in Rhino
Plague Marines x7 with 2 Plasmaguns in Rhino

x3 Daemon Princes of Nurgle with Wings and whatever else you can afford.

I don't have my codex with me but I think that's about 2000 points. That's not a super competitive list but it would be super fun to play and collect. Thoughts?

That sounds like a tough army but i don't really wanna flood my list with just daemons. What if instead of daemon princes i took a forge fiend or took some havoc with a predator tank, i don't really wanna do 60 plaguebearers either, 30 sounded more than enough to me.

It won't be very competitive without the drakes. For a new player it is a good start

What about this list, I feel like it would be a little more mobile and still provide a fair ammount of tough bodies and some range support from the tanks. Any tips on this list?

By not running the drakes you aren't giving yourself anti air and are choosing not to play the best model in the game
