I'm working on a finishing off my Storm Raven and have a Land Raider Redeemer finished. I was thinking that it could be fun to pack them with Death Company + chaplain. I have a boxed set of 5 right now. Do I need to pick up another 5? Any suggestions on loadouts. I'll pick up as many plasma pistols/infernus pistols and the rules allow. Not sure about the cc weapons.

I'd do 10 Death Company. Numbers are always handy, and your Stormraven can carry them.
Throw in some Power Weapons and Power Fists, maybe a Thunder Hammer?

And perhaps try a Death Company Dreadnought to go alongside the Stormraven?

Rule Number 1: Never put anything in a Flyer that does not have a Stormshield. when the Flyer is shot down whilst zooming, the Crash and Burn rules will kill all of your guys. I use a Terminator Librarian with a Storm Shield and a unit of SS/TH assault Terminators in the SR, that way if it gets shot down the first turn it comes into play, all my models do not just up and die, as they all have a 3+ save against that S10 AP1 hit.

I use 8 DC in a Drop Pod with a Terminator Librarian with a Storm Shield, 1 Power Weapon, 1 Power Fist the rest a mix of Bolter, and BP/Chainsword on the Death Company. (Prescience works better than the chaplains ability, as the chaplain ability is only useful if they charge, the Librarians power is on 91% of the time.

Jump Packs are too expensive, a Rhino could work if you go flat out on your first turn then disembark 2nd turn, then assault 3rd turn.

I know DeathReaper is aware of this, but - you can't cast Prescience on the DC on the turn they arrive, so that ability only helps from the turn after onwards. The problem with a pod is that they may have already been charged by then, which blunts them. Mind you, the Chaplain ability is not so helpful for exactly the same reasons (can't charge the turn you arrive, either).

For these reasons, and the Stormraven vulnerability, I take mine with jump packs. Now granted, that's a whole different kettle of fish that probably a dozen people I will now have tell me I will die alone for daring to run them that way. Pod DC *CAN* be effective, but you have to be careful where you drop them. Make the most of their shots on arrival to stop them from being charged straight away.

I'm planning on magnetizing my jump packs, but at 15 points a piece, that just gets expensive. That also seems like a good argument for hauling them around in a Land Raider.

If using jump packs I recommend 6. If on foot I recommend 10 all the way.

I run 10 with a single powerfist in the unit.

To me they're just expensive marines with a ton of special rules.

I'd go with 7 also. You only ever need 1 DC dread.
