Ok so GW has had digital editions of codex on the IOS platform for a while and have been releasing codex and other media for it.

I assumed it was only time until it trickled down to non apple users. I anticipated the codex's and ancillary material they've made available for the IOS to be ported over.

It's finally here, we get....

The epub equivalent of trading cards.

Here's this shiny new downloadable, it's six dollars and is 14 pages long!! OH and it's a collection! You know you want to keep dropping $6 over and over again as more of these come out!!

Oh wow! Thank you Games Workshop!

But wait!!! THERE'S MORE!!!!!

For a mere $1.99(US) you can download a massive 7 page tome of the shuriken catapult and divulge into the deep and rich lore of this enigmatic alien technology!

I'm hoping this is just a precursor to better things to come on the other formats but I'm not holding my breath.

Does anyone have any thoughts or information on the matter?

Ah I said it's easier and cheaper. Didn't give directions, mention how to or say I way.

Hmm.... I should specify I'm looking for conversation on the overpriced GW min releases on Android. Discussing how to pirate would be a violation of Dakka rules.

My reaction when I first saw the phrase, "New digital products for the Android," in an e-mail from GW today:

: D

My reaction when I noticed it was just a bunch of crappy "collectible" background fluff without anything useful for gaming:

*sigh* back to normality again.

Edited to properly convey my similar feelings.
Admittedly though I don't even really want these things on Android either... the whole reason I thought going on Apple was a bad idea was because tying it to one platform means you lose it if anything happens to that platform or you decide to change. I'd much rather have a fairly common format (like PDF) that I can access from just about any PC or mobile device I choose.

At least they're acknowledging that Android exists.
If they're dipping their toe in with this, it's hopefully not long before they release a set of digital codex for them.

But, if this is their way of testing the waters on Android usage, they're mixing up market data for collectables with games resources. A 14-page snapshot of fluff does not mean the same customer will buy a codex, too.
Maybe they'll offer a discount when you buy a codex, if you have bought fluff stuff for that race....

This is probably going to lead to E-codexes for Android, given that while the iPhone may be the single best selling smart phone, there are a metric crap ton of phones using the Android platform.
