My last list didn't generate any comments so trying this one instead:
I'm playing around with a potential future army, and I was trying to come up with what seems like a decent 2k list but I'm a veteran SM player so I have no idea if this is a good list. I'm looking for a fun list that can still win some games without being WAC. Here's my attempt:
HEADQUARTERS:
St Celestine 115
Cannoness, storm bolter 68
TROOPS:
Battle sisters x10, storm bolter, heavy bolter, combi-plasma 143
Battle sisters x10, flamer, HF, combi-flamer, MB, repressor 215
Battle sisters x10, MG, MM, combi-melta, MB, repressor 210
Battle sisters x10, MG, MM, combi-melta, MB, repressor 210
FAST ATTACK:
Seraphims x9, 2x inferno pistols, 2x hand-flamers, power-axe/PP 220
HEAVY SUPPORT:
Avenger Strike Fighter, autocannons 180
Avenger Strike Fighter, autocannons 180
Exorcist 135
Exorcist 135
Retributors x7, 4xHBs, combi-plasma 119
ADL with comms-relay 70
TOTAL 2000
Three repressors pushing forward with a AV13 wall of armor, the Seraphims will join St Celestine to hop around and harrass/counter-attack.
The forward elements will be supported by the exorcists and the heavy bolter squads behind the ADL and eventually by the Strike Fighters who actually have nice firepower and AV12 front. The cannoness will join the Retributors to help with the act-of-faith tests.
What are SoB vets thinking? Is this garbage or ok? Obviously I'm cool with FW stuff.

I know the point is almost moot but having forge world in your list makes it hard to gauge. yes sisters pretty much don't have a codex but once you start adding FW stuff things can get out of hand. I have sisters too and really want them not to have the mono build that they do but GW hates me. I am guessing that you added the FW to break out of this mono-build hell but once you do that your opponent gets to too.

I don't have any issues with FW stuff, neither do most local tourneys I've been in. It's time people started accepting FW as part of 40k and enjoy the models and extra dimension it brings to the game.
That said, does anyone have anything actually constructive to say about the list?

I would drop the extra rets and the combi-plasma (just doesn't really fit) and try to find points either for a ride for the last BSS squad, or to upgrade the ADL to have a quad-gun (perfect for the rets to shoot).
I think it is just a nomenclature thing, but you mean 1 Seraphim has hand flamers, and 1 has inferno pistols, correct? Given they come as pairs you'll usually not see them called out as 2x, but that's a minor detail. For them, definitely skip the inferno pistols... just not worth it, not enough synergy with their act of faith, and you'll be using those ladies to mulch infantry anyways. Better to tank-hunt with your Exorcists and MM/ MG BSS than a large unit of Seraphim. Worst case just toss melta-bombs on the Superior and you'll be all set. I tried a plasma pistol a bit, but it never really did much for me, so that is something you can consider dropping too... I generally just thew a grenade with my Superior, frag is great for some extra wounds on infantry.
Other than that, given FW is a-ok it looks solid enough - I'm curious how well the AV13 holds up against other FW shenanigans out there.

I like it. Just for the fact that it's unique, I like it. I would very much like to see a battle report from this, but just from looking at it, looks like it could do very well. I'd switch the storm bolters for flammers though, better for when you get charged. But, maybe it works too. Good long range action there. I'm glad to see someone else using the cannoness. I use mine with the HQ squad as a diet heavy weapon squad.

It would be interesting to see how this list would play out, my only suggestion is ditch the power axe on the seraphim and the combi-plasma on the retributors, then use the leftover points to give the retributors the re-roll faith banner thing.

I like your list- it sort of breaks the mono-list mold of the Sisters of Battle, but still manages to bring a lot of hurt to the table. My thoughts:
HQ:
Celestine is as good as they say.
What are you really getting out of that Canoness? A mediocre statline, no power weapon, a stormbolter... +1 initiative and preferred enemy in the assault phase with an Act of Faith. That's not a lot for 68 points. I'd either kit her differently, or drop her entirely. I've also read good things about combining a Canoness' BS5 with an ADL weapon emplacement, though.
Dedicated Transports:
I have not yet played with the new Repressors, but they look great on paper. AV 13 on the front is pretty sweet since volumes of S7 firepower seem to be a mainstay in many armies, and the Heavy Flamer makes it a much more credible threat than the Rhino.
Troops:
Squads C and D have a meltagun and a multimelta. I personally don't think these guns synergize very well together- the meltagun's short range really requires you to be moving every turn, whereas the multimelta is a Heavy weapon, which can only snapfire if you move. I'd be tempted to run both of these squads with dual meltaguns. I think the Combi-melta and the Meltabomb are good investments here because sometimes, you really just need something to die.
Squad B looks great; the Heavy Flamer is not Heavy so it doesn't suffer the same issues that the melta squads do.
Squad A looks like it's kitted to babysit an objective behind the ADL? Keeping it cheap is definitely a perk, but were I you I might consider making this a flamer squad as well: if you're down on an objective, you won't be shooting those bolt weapons anyway, and your biggest fear is going to be getting roasted with AP3 templates (nothing you can do about this either way), or getting charged. At least with two flamers or a flamer and a heavy flamer, you can get a bunch of free hits in on a charger and potentially soften him up enough so that the Sisters can survive the assault.
Fast Attack:
I love Seraphim, though I was ultimately disappointed by the inferno pistols. Chances are, you're not going to use the unit against tanks, since that's wasting ~200 points of bolt shooting (as well as Celestine's heavy flamer shot), and the hand flamers synergize really well with the sheer volume of fire the unit puts out. I tried the infernos once, and have run them with hand flamers ever since. Plasma Pistols aren't my favorite thing in the world, but as a Marine Player you're probably well aware of their ups and downs already.
Heavy Support:
Avengers are really good, provided you can clear the enemy's AA out with your meltas before they come on board (and the relay can give you some extra time to do so?). I like Dominions for that role; An Immolator + the Scout rule puts them in place to microwave any AA right off the bat. The twin Exorcists can probably do much the same. However, exorcists and/or melta immolators can't really clear out an infantry squad on an Interceptor Gun, so your Anti-Anti-Air really depends on your local meta. However, due to the frailty of the Avenger, if ther's any dedicated AA on that table when you come in, you're going to suffer.
As far as their loadout, remember that they come standard with two Lascannons and one Avenger cannon- that's three guns (ignoring that useless H. Stubber). As a flier can only fire four guns a round, buying a pair of Autocannons for 30 points (or any of the paired weapons) struck me as a bit steep- you're probably only ever going to fire one, and since the plane only has 2 HP and a rear armor of 10, it probably won't be around long enough to really capitalize on that investment anyway. I'm currently running mine with bombs, since you can only fire one bomb a turn anyway, but if I was going for a really competative list I might be tempted to drop the Bombs and just run them with the core equipment.
Exorcists are an amazing tank for 135 points.
I love Heavy Bolter Retributors. I've recently been running them with 3 Heavy Bolters and a single multimelta- you're not always going to get the Act of Faith off, and even then you might not roll those 6's you need for Rending. Your enemies will learn this, and having a Multimelta in there makes them a guarenteed threat, even if you flub your Acts of Faith rolls.

I truly appreciate all the great feedback, the cannoness is in there for dual FOC purposes. I'll definitely look at dropping some of the combi upgrades and switching some of the options to streamline it more. Thanks again! Automatically Appended Next Post: So here are the changes: Switched the combi-plasma to another storm-bolter on the 1st sister superior. Didn't realize I could run dual MGs on the BSS so both squads are now dual MGs Swapped the inferno pistols to hand flamers on the Seraphims, excellent point about the Act of Faith, I'm still gonna keep the power-axe/plasma-pistol sister superior just 'cause I think it would look awesome esthetically While Stormfather makes an excellent point about being able to only shoot 4 guns with the flyer, I still like the idea of the autocannons; I can alternate between shooting 1 autocannon or 1 lascannon with the rest of the guns depending on the target. I get the feeling that I wouldn't get to drop all the bombs before the end of the game (and they're more expensive). I also threw in the Simulacrum Imperialis in the Retributor squad to hep get those rending shots. As previously explained the Cannoness is there to allow dual FOC and to improve the Act of Faith roll for the retributors. New total is now 1996. Bat rep will take a while since I don't have a single model... This is for future planning so I know what to buy when I eventually get around to it; I think it could be esthetically great looking (thinking Order of the Sacred Rose for the paint-scheme), still pack a decent punch and stay fairly fluffy. Again thank you all for the great feedback!
