So I had a situation come up today that was resolved fairly quickly on the table but warranted further investigation after the match. Here's how things went down:
At the top of turn 2, my opponent had positioned a 4-man Windrider squad with his Farseer on bike attached within assault range of my glaive-equipped Wraithlord. At the bottom of Turn 2 (my turn), I assaulted them and challenged his Farseer. He accepted, swung and wiffed all his attacks. I swung back and got one blow through his Rune Armor, instant deathing him. The squad succeeded their Morale test and piled in.
At the top of Turn 3, we continued the combat and I nabbed three of the remaining bikes. The Windrider's paltry S3 was insufficient to wound me and the last guy elects to automatically fail his Morale test (per Our Weapons Are Useless) and flee.
Here's the point of contention:
Were the jetbikers able to automatically fail the Morale Test in the bottom of Turn 2 after I killed the Farseer since there were no models that were capable of wounding the Wraithlord in combat or would they have to fight another turn since the Farseer was capable of wounding the Wraithlord that turn?
