I have had several discussions with my friends on this one, and to me it always ends with an Ork of some kind. Let's face it, in general life in the 40K universe essentially sucks, but the orks always seem to have a good time.

It would have to be a civilian of one of the Eldar Craftworld's for me as well. Thousands of years to explore and refine art, craftsmanship, war, philosophy, psychic ability, and just about anything else you can think of. While the path may be strict; you can at least always say you have a choice. Should you choose to leave and explore the universe you can become a steersman, join a band of rangers, or join a corsair group. If you have the cahones you could even have the option of going to Commoragh where, while still a stunted cousin, you would still be true-born (and thusly better off than a great majority of Commoragh's population).
Eldar civilians have choice and, despite the path, a great deal of freedom.
