Has anyone elese had this problem? It seems that in every vehicle kit that I get one of the larger pieces is severely warped requireing a whole song and dance for me to get them to align some what close so they don't have a severe gap. Any advice on how to handle this problem. It kind of annoying on top of the missing pieces. Preadator witn no side sponsons, landpeeder typhoon missing on missle laucher and a chaos termy set missing one torso. Is this happening to everyone out there buying gw kits or is it just my fowl luck.

Very rarely, over the 4.5 years that I've been in the hobby, has this happened to me. As far as warped vehicles are concerned, have you tried to submerge the pieces in very hot, almost boiling, water? Just leave it in for about one or two minutes. This will make the plastic softer and easier to straighten. Also, another trick, use rubber bands to hold the hull together while the glue cures.

As for any missing pieces/componants, GW mail order is very helpful with sending a replacement part. If you made your purchase at a GW store, simply return there with your reciept and the box. They'll exchange it for you with out any fuss. If it's a New York/ North East shop, do this within 30 days of purchase. Other areas might be 60 or 90.

I've had Krootox that were too badly warped to fit together properly so when I called in, GW sent a replacement that fit correctly. This was good, cause a friend with a little sculpting talent was able to put the warped critter together so it looked like a slightly beefier Krootox and thus I wound up with two. Another example is my old LE Bretonnian with a "melted stump" for an arm. I've not had problems putting plastic kits together (even warped ones) because I'm pretty good at letting stuff dry before I move on with other bits.

As for getting replacements, as long as you have the original packaging so you can give the info to the Customer Service rep, you should be fine.

I think you just had some bad luck I've been collecting for 16 years and have never had a warped vehicle or any other plastic. as for GW's returns policy you can exchange without proof of purchase andthey would be happy to exchage any faulty part in store or through mail order

Just to share my experience, I bought a Crisis Suit for my Gerbera conversion the other day, and I got a box of parts that were literally fused together into one solid lump. I have absolutely no idea what went wrong, as all the plastic bits, including the bases were melted, but the decals and the box itself were untouched.

Bizzare.

A Note of Caution when calling GW US to get replacement parts. They will Black-list you if they note a pattern of you requesting replacement parts. It seems you're either a.) deliberately looking for bad parts through the blisters or b.) looking for freebies and handouts. Both of which GW frowns upon.
They realize there will be mistakes made, but they don't want to make a habit of just handing out costly pieces to repeat "offenders".
Once you've been Blacklisted, they'll require you to send the piece back to them before shipping a replacement.
They may also request that you send the piece back if you purchased it at an independant store and you're requesting a really expensive replacement (like terminator assault cannon sprue....).

I've had some bad luck lately too on some things. Wrong parts in my last Basilisk and Broadside. The broadside I managed to make it work, for the basilisk GW sent me a new sprue.

But I constantly have to fight warped parts as well. I think it's a combination of poor techniques in making molds, poor techniques in actually shooting the plastic, and the over-thickness of the plastic that makes the warped and undermolded parts. Their choice of plastic doesn't help either. I think they use it because it's more thermally stable and doesn't shrink as much when it cools, but it sucks in a lot of other ways.
