Hey guys and gals, I was thinking of starting up a Dark Eldar wych army. Unfortunantly, I'm a terrible player, and an even worse list maker. I don't know where to start with DE, I've been SMs for so god damn long. The way I've always viewed Dark Eldar, ever since I was 10, was that they go in, @#$% things up, and leave in a matter of hours. I wanna try to make an army that embodies this sort of principle. If anyone can give me any suggestions, or troop builds, that would be great, I'd like to definently discuss this.
The units I was looking at are the Succubus, wyches, jetbikes, venom/raider, hellions, and a razorwing. Now I've heard that wyches are super weak, and can easily get shot up in 1 turn. I also don't see hellions too often, is that because they suck?

Wyches are lethal antivehicle when equipped with haywire grenades. I like to deliver mine with venoms, as 5 is usually plenty, and then the venom can shoot up some other poor sods.
Wyches have no armour save, and low toughness, so die fast to shooting, and have a tendency to get hobbled by overwatch when assaulting infantry, so they are best used as expendable vehicle killers.
The jetbikes are good, but fragile. Hellions tend to be underestimated, but are also very fragile, like most DE stuff.
The planes are decent. Mine see a lot of use.

I acutally just got an Army and have played them twice. I have a Haemonculus, Archon for HQ choices, The Archon could be used as Vect as he is an Archon. 17 Wyches with one Hekatrix, 10 Kabalite Warriors 1 Syabrite and 1 one with Dark lance and one with Blaster. 7 Hellions and 1 Raider. In both games th Hellions got owned but that was my fault by not using them right. I plan to use them as ambush next time. The raider one shots vehicles like no other. Haven't tried loading it up with any troops yet. But all these pieces seem to be a good starting place.
The two games I've played were both against the same player using Blood Angels, I lost the first game(Purge the Alien) and won the second(Big guns never tire). Got tabled the first game but I was still fuzzy on the codex and didn't use the wyches right or at all for that matter. But honestly there are so many ways to start a DE army. Hope this helped.

I play DE and i would say that Wytches are extremely prone to being shot down VERY easily, but if you can get them stuck in CC they become somewhat more survivable but still not that amazing. I find the units you will need are a scourge squad equipped with anti vehicle, (i have in my 5 man squad heat lance and blaster (blaster not dark lance, dark lance will slow everything down don't use it here)) and an archon with 9 trueborn (i have 2 of each, CCW and pistol, shardcarbine, blaster, and shredder, and a dracon with blast pistol and power sword) in a raider or if you're using vect the dias. if you want a reaver squad it would be a good idea to give them a heat lance or blaster. make sure to use your wytches from cover only when you think you can make the kill, do not throw away their lives

My top units from a productivity standpoint have been, in order:
1. Grotesques. I cannot say enough about them, really. surprisingly strong unit, can benefit from a LOT of synergies, and Urien Rakarth makes them real beasts.
2. Wracks taken as troops. In my opinion, they are a very strong troops choice, but their silly flamers dish significant damage to the enemy once forced to be close to them.
3. Trueborn. More hit and miss than the first two because enemies will not always be susceptible to Blasterborn and the venoms are pretty flimsy. But having said that, few units consistently beat them out for actually doing their JOB. reliability ranks high on my list and this unit is very reliable.
So if I were to tell yuo to invest in something early, it would be Urien and his grotessques, and then some Wracks. Blasterborn can be done via bikes, or vehicles, but I'd recommend trying the Blaster born first.
