Hey people,

I was just wandering if the Gods of chaos are actual material entities, not just manifestations of one's imagination.

I know that there are no physical/material entities in the warp, but what I am trying to say is that say if Khorne or Nurgle or such stepped out into real space, would he have some material representation???

Basically are the gods actual Daemons or just a name of a particular cult/ideal/imaginary entity that has little Daemon minions?

Thanks,

We know that Daemons' bodies are physical representations of a warp entity - we also know that the Chaos Gods create these Daemons from their own essence. Therefore, it should theoretically stand to reason that a Chaos God could have a physical body in the material universe.

However, it's worth bearing in mind that:
1) it still wouldn't really be *them*, in the way that a Daemon's body isn't the actual Daemon either, and their essence would return to the warp again if killed;
2) they would be severely weakened compared to their original form, as this is the case for all other Daemons;
3) the amount of effort required to bring the Chaos God over would be absolutely phenomenal, certainly beyond the abilities of the Gods themselves even combined, when you consider how much energy they have to expend just to get a rift open. So practically, it's not going to happen, unless the galaxy is already severely broken.

Basically are the gods actual Daemons or just a name of a particular cult/ideal/imaginary entity that has little Daemon minions?

You've nearly got it, but you're thinking about it the wrong way round. Daemons are miniature Chaos Gods.

From what i know it takes a great deal of effort to bring a demon primarch back to the mortal realm so bringing a god would be nearly impossible.

If Failbaddon's 13th crusade actual works for once, it may be possible.

Currently Abaddon's 13th Crusade is set to bring the Daemon Primarchs into the material realm according to the supplement (the daemon primarchs are literally standing at the ready for it. Even Fulgrim!). Bringing the gods themselves into the material realm though is probably far beyond that.

It should be noted that Nurgle (who is the most interested in the material realm) technically manifests in the material realm as a Great Unclean one. Those are stated to be avatars of Nurgle himself, albeit only a part of his whole personality (and at least one of them, Kulgath, is actually technically just a really really REALLY big nurgling, instead, and not a part of Nurgle's personality. Which really shows, given his goal to earn a redemption for something that Nurgle already forgave him for)

Presumably fully manfestng Nurgle would get you a really really REALLY fething big Great Unclean one.
