I'm thinking of getting some AoBR Termies to supplement my CC Terminators, but I've heard rumours that they're of dubious quality or are rather uninteresting to paint so I thought I'd ask you lot to get a quick answer. Any thoughts?

They're not brilliantly posed, a bit static. They look fine though, plenty of flat spaces for transfers/freehand/gluing more stuff to. I don't believe there's a heavy weapon in the squad though.

With a liitte time, GS and a sharp knife, they are pretty easy to pose more dynamically should you wish, and are perfectly fine quality-wise. Once painted up, they're pretty hard to tell apart from standard termies.

Cheers for the responses guys. How many parts go into making one Termie? If I can disassemble them then I can spice them up a bit I reckon.

Head and chestplate are one part, legs and back are one part, and arms and shoulder pads are one part. As I say, it's really easy to repose the arms and legs. The head is more of an issue, but it's not hard to change the Sgt head to another from your bits box.

Hmm, I've never attempted to re-position limbs - could you give me a hint at the basic procedure? I only ask as if I do get these, then I will have to convert them I guess.

I figure It would be an easy arm swap and done. The models are of sufficient quality the conversion shouldn't be too hard

There's pegs on the body and holes in the shoulders, they just slot in, but they don't stay loose and just drop, you can have the arms in any angle you want.

For the limbs, the easiest way to mix them up a bit is to change the arms into a more dynamic pose: Just create a wedge of GS, cut into it lines like you see on PA joints, and attach it to the arm/torso. You can use this to spread them a bit wider, make the gun arm more directed, or put the emphasis on the PF arm by moving the SB arm back and bringing the fist out and forward like he's punching.
Another good one is to (before attaching the chest/head), cut the legs and waist from the torso above the belt, and reattach the torso twisted to one side, so it looks like the termie is spinning to face a new threat or preparing a punch, depending on which arm you out the emphasis on.
The legs are a little more difficult, but cutting them where they join the pelvis and regluing them one forward and one backward, combined with twisting the torso, can give a running look. This is not that easy, but looks pretty good and makes them far less static.
Hope that helps and gives you some ideas, the key is just to experiment a bit. If you don't like what you get, just pull it apart and start again. Good Luck.

Cheers Paradigm, and everyone else, looks like I will get them after all One final question though - would I have to pin the reposed limbs, or should superglued GS be sufficient?

I've found superglue and GS has held up pretty well over the years, but if you're really worried about it, then the pin on the arm will hold the GS, and then just stick a tiny pin into the GS and plug it into the hole in the arm. But as I say, I've never found this necessary.
