Im looking into making a henchmen squad of a bunch of conversions for the fun of having one but i was just wondering how other dakka members set theirs up? So please feel free to post your favorite set ups!

What kind of henchmen do you take?

What kind of gear?

What kind of inquisitor do you enjoy using?

Any good fluff behind em?

Particular Tactics?

Thanks again dakka for sharing!

Crusaders are good bullet-blockers, DCAs are awesome on the attack. If you rely on reserves then mystics are very helpful. If you pack ranged, Jokaero+Servitors are a half decent tag team.
If I field a Malleus Inq then a Daemonhost is very fluffy IMO.
I always like fielding Acolytes as 'Sergeants', just my thing not that powerful it seems. AFs are good in cc and FNP are decent small arms stoppers but in fightiness alone lose to DCA.

Yeah I'm thinking 2 servitors, 2 crusaders, 1 jokaero and the rest as acolytes with hot shot mainly for fluff kinda purposes

Are you planning them to be in a vehicle? Cos if you are take 6 tops, need a space for the Inq to prevent Mindlock.
I like Xenos for the weird and wacky weapons but I haven't tried Malleus or Hereticus out

I was thinking of the unit as a whole being 10 units so they can get in the chimera.

I made my inquisitor into a malleus so that I could get the daemon sword which sounds fun to use or the hellrifle

Ok, a Daemonhost would be very fluffy and can be pretty wacky in-game.
Chimeras at 10 size... All acolytes you may as well play guard. Variety is the spice of life

Hiya, I play inquisitor GK. There's some good info on the GK Tactica thread.

I sometimes use 3 plasma servitors, inquisitor, 1-2 jokaeros as backfield defence, perhaps in an Aegis defence line.

I sometimes use 3 groups of 6 Psykers each group having a single acolyte (to avoid unit loss upon Perils). I did the math on Psykers and 3 units gives you a 75%-ish chance of landing at least one Large Blast (S8, AP1) on target - cheap if you consider it's range is 36" + 6" and they're scoring. Don't listen to people who poo-poo Psykers and who haven't tested them in this manner. They are rather wonderful

I also have started to enjoy using footslogging 10+ stormbolter acolytes, which with inquisitor-generated Prescience can provide formidable volleys of torrent fire to 24" + 6" to take out anything with orkish-type odds. I'm playing round with adding a crusader and/or DCA to these stormbolter acolyte units to protect them from heavy long range fire / from panic tests for a round or two / from assault. I say footslogging, but they're normally getting cover from chimeras or psybacks (razorback/heavy bolter/psyammo).

Maxed out jokaero with coteaz because nothing is more funny than monkeys with lasers(melta/flamers)

Seriously though for a henchmen army,

Coteaz because well he is awesome
2 jokaero will guarantee that a unit will get something
henchmen should be cheap, so boltermen are nice.

I have been toying with a inquisitor with that psycolium thing for bs 10 against psykers but its expensive.

A lot of people who want a 'competitive' army seem to run an inquisitor with 3 plasma cannon servitors and the rest plain or bolter acolytes. Sometimes a couple of plasmagun acolytes are added to this, sometimes a couple of Jokero.

But if you care more about fluff you can have A LOT more variety with your henchmen. DCA and Crusaders are fun to kitbash as are psyker henchmen. Check out the dakka galleries to see what other people (including me) have cobbled together, lol.

I like two crusaders for taking wounds out front with their SS, 2 servitors to pack heavy fire power, only 1 jokaero, and 4 arcolytes to make my 9 man crew and then add my inquisitor and throw them in a dual heavy Bolter chimera.

I'm gonna soon rethink a henchman squad and try to make a good CC one using death cult, fagilants and what not lol

I like:
Psybacks with 5 Acolytes holding 3 plasma guns
Storm Raven with 3 Acolytes holding 3 melta guns
3 Plasma Cannon Servitors, 3 Crusaders, 4 Warrior Acolytes (2 or 0 Jokaero's in here as well depending on pts and taste)

These are my favorite henchman squads.

I need to return some video tapes.

There are 2 quite detailed articles in my signature about henchmen.

It is very hard to say what s the "best" henchmen. There are a number of competitive options and a ton of semi-viable, but very fun options as well.
