A local shop near me is running a modified Mangeled Metal type tournament is September that I think is called Fight Club.

Its a 25pt list tournament, where a maximum of 5 points can be spent on non-Warjack/Warbeasts.

I was looking to run my Searforge in this, and here is what I have:

The plan is to have the Gunbunnies out front blasting everything in range. When they get too close or I pop Gorten's feat and pull them in, a Tuned Up Drill with Strength of Granite will finish just about anything off short of a Colossal in 1 round.

Are you marshaling anything under Thor? A gunner or two being run under him would help free up some focus for Gorten. That way, he can add his double barrel hand cannon to your gun line.

Not at the moment no. I was thinking about dropping a Driller and a Gunner and giving an Avalancher to Thor. I really like this combo as Thor can Pronto the Avalancher, letting it move out of activation so it can still move and get the aiming bonus when it activates. Thor can then Tune Up it's damage rolls and boost it's To Hit roll with the Avalancher Cannon with the Jack Marshall ability.

If I do this it gives Thor something to do while the Driller gets close enough to wreck something.

That might work, alot of people criticize the avalancher. Honestly, it should be effective - I certainly wish my khador destroyers had those stats. I think the issue is just it's point cost and it's weak melee weapon. If you drop a driller, then you will be losing a significant melee punch that may be required in a fight club setting.

It will likely take some games to figure out what works best. Keep in mind, gorten has a lethal freakin gun capable of rng12 POW 16 shots so having extra melee power might be more worth your while rather than having the avalancher. Whichever way you choose, I would stick something under thor, Two gunners would work fine.
