Hi guys,

Trying to glam up my thunderhawk a bit as it was looking a bit sorry for itself (some bad molds and fitting) and one of things I would like to do is put some coloured acrylic/perspex sheet in the canopy.

Any idea what thickness is best to use? Would 3mm be too fat?

Tried doing a google but it dosnt seem to be that common :(

Cheers for any help.

0.3mm ish. Basically acetate sheet from the equivalent of a blister pack is ideal.

OK after some googling I can't seem to find anywhere that sells 0.3mm sheets that ain't the size of a football field.

Anyone know where I can get some small sheets from?

Could always try tinting your own clear sheets, which are easier to find (actual blister packs, transparency sheets for an overhead projector, etc.). Future/Klear tinted with ink is an old aviation modeler's trick - just mix some up, dip in the panes, and let them drip/air dry. May want to leave yourself an extra little tab to use as a handle, which can be trimmed off later.

Anything in a large blister pack (eg GW movement trays), or a craft shop. I bought a 10 sheet pack of 14" x 14" acetate sheets.
