Getting ready for my first tourney and had to put a list together with 1 of each FOC choice and a 1500 point limit.

HQ- Belial (190)
HQ- Librarian w/Terminator Armor, Mastery 2 (130)

Troop- 10-man Deathwing (2x Assault Cannon, 2x Chainfist, Sgt w/powersword- basically two DV Deathwing sets) (490)

Elite- 5-man Deathwing Knights (235)

Fast Attack- 6 Ravenwing bikes (1 flamer, 1 meltagun), Attack bike w/multimelta, Speeder w/ multimelta,heavy flamer (315)

Heavy Support- Las Pred w/Las sponsons (140)

Thinking about running the Ravens in early and using their homer to bring in the DW squads- Belial with the Knights and the Divination libby with the shooty DW (using his Prescience to bolster their shooting). Speeder, attack bike and Pred provide tank/heavy poppers. No need for AA since one of the parameters is no flyers allowed.

Would appreciate some feedback on this list in case there's a flaw in the strategy I'm not seeing. I have some time to prepare for the tourney, so there's time to make tweaks when need be.

Ok some ideas:

1) Where are you getting your points calculation for your librarian from? You have put 185 which is more than 50 points over the price of what he should be. Could be a typo.

2) I have knights in my army, and I use them for fun games. I wouldn't take them to a tourney to be honest. They are too niche, have no ranged out put and cannot score. I use mine as TH/SS DW some of the time as then at least you can score, but they still retain the problems of being a melee focused unit in a shooty edition with no effective way of getting into cc without a landraider. I would consider swapping them for another DW squad, or possibly some Black Knights.

3) Mixing weapon load outs: I know it might seem tempting to mix weapons on the bikes and the speeder, with the mind set akin to a swiss army knife in wishing to deal with every problem. However more lightly than not what will happen is that you end up with a unit who can do no job well. For example there is no target that I would want to shoot a MM and a flamer at. MM is for armour and multi wound T4 things, flamers are for burning hordes. It would be better imo to take meltas on the bikes, and duel HF on the speeder, or perhaps flamers on the bikes and meltas on the speeder.

I was thinking about swapping them for Black Knights, but then I'd be in a predicament of still needing an Elite choice that I have the model for (tourney rules don't allow any proxy)

Vets in a DP with some combi's maybe? Or a Dread in a DP? A DP feels like it'd fit with your scheme, but maybe for points they could be on foot somewhere.
