Max amount of Grunts and backed by Dreadnought Armor Iron hands give them some survivability. Debating to use Ultra-Marines.

I think a storm shield will serve you better than a grav pistol on the master, shield eternal being even better then that.

Otherwise pretty solid.

Are they vanilla dreads or Iron clads?

Vanilla dreads they all get it shall not die., and I will try to give him a basic storm shield if I can.

Another thing i would be tempted by is this:

swap both Flamer tac squads for 2x5 man assaults squads with flamer and combi flamer and pod. its only 95 points per squad!

that would free up enough points to make the dreds ironclads and get your some better wargear.

hmm ok I do like that.

I think its worth considering. As you say, IH tactics make those dreds more survivable, even more so hwhen they are AV13.

Use ICD in pods w/ HF upgrade over SB

At 2000pts I would personally try my hardest to make those dreads ironclads. As has been said av13 is great. Especially 3 of em stomping around your enemies backfield. You've got a lot of troops, it shouldn't be hard to find the points. Just my two cents
