The Cauldron of Blood




The Cauldron of Blood is quite a centerpiece miniature. I'm still working my way through the extra's that come with the set (Blood Wrack medusa is almost complete).

Shadowblade Master of Assassins.





I'm a little sad that Shadowblade has lost his age old ability to hide in your opponents units, but they have made up for it by releasing this amazing new miniature. I feel like i've only really scratched the surface of what this miniature is capable of - I need to paint another, then possibly three more.

Although these models will not be joining the Black House they were great practice runs. Seeing the kit up close has inspired a few ideas.

What!! That was like THE reason to play DE back in my day. What a shame. Still you've really brought him to life, Myles. That cauldron is awesome too. So much purple The blood on the statue's sword is really cool looking. I'm off to see (hopefully more) pics on your blog!

He's still actually really good. He can't hide in an enemy unit anymore, but he can "move" from unit to unit until you reveal him--and if your opponent has something that can force you to reveal hidden models, you just have to reveal that he is in a unit rather than what unit he is in.

That said, the Cauldron looks amazing. I like the red stone on the statue of Khaine.
Shadowblade looks nice as well, but something feels off about the fleshtones. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it is.
