Hey everybody! This is my first time making a progress log, so I'll try to do right the first go around. I've played
40k for I think 9 or 10 years, but never had a completely painted army, so hopefully this thread will keep me motivated to finish an army for once in my life! (I love seeing pictures in other people's blogs, so I'm gonna put a lot in here!)
So, down to business.
My Grey Knights army is kinda big, so this might be on going for some time...
First off, I'll be working on my Terminators. I aim to have most of my army magnetized, so if something is missing from a model, that's why. I'm using the Zenithal highlighting technique for the first time, on these, and am very pleased with the results! For the airbrush paints I used Vallejo Model Air, for everything else the
GW range.
I tried using the Zenith tutorial
here but that came out way too bright for me, I really wanted to make them darker and more steely looking. So a few color swaps and I found the look I wanted.
To start off, they were primed using
GW chaos black rattle can, then an undercoat of Copper
Then after that had some time to dry, a coat of Black Metal
Next up is a coat of Gunmetal
And lastly a highlight of Steel
Last one that was my test model
Thats them started out, I paint while I'm at work so I didnt have my camera to take the step by step pictures, but here they are finished mosly.
Camera picked up a lot more mistakes and imperfections that i thought... will have to go back and fix some things.
Well! I guess its time to go back to work then, C&C welcome as always, I love criticisms!
