In memoriam of all the draigowing lists I'd like to play around with some list ideas. The main component is the following unit.

Abbadon
Chaos sorceror on bike, lvl 3, last memory, 4++, spell familiar
Allied Chaos Lord, MoN, palaquin, 4++, burning brand, murder sword
9 Terminators,Bringers of Despair, 3 power maul, 3 power axes, 1 pair of lightning claws, 2 chainfists, 3 combi meltas, 2 reaper autocannons, MoN
1 champion, lightning claw, powerfist, gift of mutation

I know it's 1000 points but it's 20 T5 wounds with a pretty good chance of endurance from biomancy. The close combat potential is enormous but I'm looking at what I should build around it.

Some heldrakes for AA? Obliterators in a firestorm redoubt?

I feel like some dodgy scoring troops like cultists in a landraider or something. Thoughts?

I would take some some cultists for sure, some vanilla csm/ chosen (hey there troops, why not spam something). Oblits would be good. Havoc with AC could function as AA, tri las pred/ oblits as long distance anti-tank. And did you consider changing the sorc so he also has MoT, the steed, and crucible of lies additionally

I dont see any troops. Even though you can take chosen as troops, i still would not becuase cultist are cheaper n their body count is better at absorbing causalties when defending objectives.

I thought 4discharge groups of autocannon havocs would be funny... lol. 475 points.

I dislike MoT because it forces me to roll on the tzeentch table and i need endurance. I also dislile T4 bikes lol.

Do you think it's tough? By my calculations it takes 12 shots from a serpent shield to do 1 wound. 4 plasma shots and 40 bolter shots. You grow wounds back through endurance and the unitshould be pretty hard to take down. The last memory should clear out hordea and the unit can star cluater out and assault 4 units.

Well, you have one blob of tough cookies... I personally would want to mark the sorc in some way because I don't despise the powers like everyone else. (MoN or MoT-even though I know you're wanting endurance really bad.. could get two enfeebles). I'd also want to give the sorc terminator armor instead of a bike so he could deepstrike with Abbadon and the terminators. I would even consider giving him the hand of darkness. Also, you're lord can not have both the burning brand and murder sword.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
When I run lists where I rely on hard hitters and have to resort to cultists as my only troop choice. I spend around 400 points on cultists. If I want reliable troops that can do damage I spend around 700-1000 points. But you already have 1000 points gone into HQ's and elite so cultists are the best option, leaving you around 600 points for Heavy Support and/or Fast attack
