Just wondering what folk think. I like the idea of this squad in a night scythe dropped game turn 3/4 onto a middle table objective. They should be able to hold it, right? Put Trazyn at the most dangerous corner and rely on a combination of 3+ saves / reanimation protocols / surrogate host to give Trazyn a pretty meaty chance of scoring on that objective?

Thoughts?

I'm basically asking because I am trying to figure out the best way of scoring out of night scythes and I was wondering if putting this down turn three might allow me to take the heat off other objectives enough to hold them with 5 warrior blobs from the other scythes.

This is just my humble opinion but I would think for the points the unit would be better spent reeking havoc amongst the enemy while a unit of 5 warriors holds your objectives, unless it's a hotly contested objective, but I would still try to park warriors on it supported by a GA to keep the unit up with repair barge.

You may be wasting the empathic obliterator and the CC power of the lychguards if you're sitting on an objective being shot at and not doing much to respond.

I would recommend parking warriors or immortals on your objectives and using Trazyn and the Lychguards as linebreakers to drop in on anyone putting your scoring units in danger and attempting to end them with a successful empathic obliteration.

Drop them off, soften unit with night scythe. Opponent must now choose to continue to threaten your objective or deal with the immediate assault threat because they're right now being hammered by your warriors/immortals (assuming in range of fire), shot at by night scythe, and next turn to be assaulted by Trazyn and the Lychguards.

The best defence is a good offence.
