I'm entering a tourney, and need a 600 point wysiwyg painted army, so I want it to be wysiwyg,

I've seen several lists, always using a librarian, things like 2 x 10 men assualt squads with meltas, or a 5 man squad and a tactical + furioso, a 5 man assualt squad, a 10 man doc and a stormraven, all of those have ups and downs, so I'm stuck, all I have that I could get done is, a captain, a librarian, a tactical squad, 5 assualt marines, 5 deathc company, a furioso dreadnought, a sanguinary priest, and a stormraven, a couple of tanks depending on of needed, and all the cool heresy armour I'm getting for Christmas, th number one recommended list is as follows

This ones without a Libby,

Captain JP plasma pistol and power weapon

Furioso dreadnought blood talon with heavy flamer

5 man assualt squad meltagun combat shield melta bombs power weapon

Tactical squad 10 man flamer missile launcher

The second most popular has either a captain or a Libby

Libby or said captain mentioned above

2 10 man assualt squads melta guns combat shields power swords


I've had a tonne of different ideas, need help picking since I'm a very competitive player, please be reasonable, as I don't want to have to go and buy half of games workshop,

hi there, first off, as you probably know, ba are extremely hard to be competitive at low points, however before i tell you to buy a different army,lol, ill try to offer some advice
captains are junk, always take a reclusiarch or librarian
5 man assault squads are useless, die way too fast, and ba tac squads aren't too great either
and also you dont seem to have anything to take out flyers. youd be surprised what some people bring in at 600 points, if i were you, id try something like this

1 barebones librarian
1 10 man assault marine squads each with a melta and a flamer, sergeant with sword maybe
at least 1 sanguinary priest
a barebones sniper scout squad
aegis line with quad gun

idk the amount of points but should work, if fliers arent a threat id say go with another assault squad instead and drop the scouts,

And never go for combat shields. 5pts to give an 18pt model a 6++ is ridiculous, even to give a 60pt model with 1w a 6++, I wouldnt pay 5pts!

AA is usually pants against 2+ saves so there will be very few opponents who can deal with both mephy and a raven at 600pts.

with polys list you could definitely throw some unsuspecting opponents off

Well, in small pt games you need numbers. Iktinos' list looks fine.
