Hi guys I am going to be doing some swamp bases and just wanted to know how can I make bases deeper

I was going to cut the top off around the circumference and then use plasticard to fill in the bottom would this work ??

Cheers in advance

Not to aim for the low-hanging fruit, but:

Flip it over?

I was going to give that a try but then I thought if I ever went to a tournament people would probably be funny about it

And it has to work with riptide and broadside basses so I don't think it will be deep enough

The only way would be to cut off the top of the base then glue a circle of plasticard to the very bottom.
Otherwise you'd need to make your own bases out of hollow plastic tubing and plasticard to get the depth you desire.

Somewhere in south-central England.

The easiest thing would be to cut a long strip of 0.25mm plasticard and cement it around the circumference of the slotta-base to extend a wall upwards, giving you a void you could fill in with plastic padding or putty.

Are you specifically looking to have solid walls around the basing? Bases that use water effects heavily can look even more striking when you're able to see the sides, as well as the top. For that, temporary dams can be used to contain the pour, then removed. You can find a few tutorials, if you poke around. I've seen everything from Dixie cups to packing tape used successfully.
