So a model in cover (i.e. 25% covered) behind a fortification gets a 3+ cover save. A model in cover behind a wall gets a 4+. An aegis defense line is a fortification that should be treated as a wall... Uh... 3+ or 4+ (25% minimum for LoS taken as read) for the Aegis Defense Line?

The ADL is a defense line, a specific type of terrain feature that explicitly tells you what cover saves it offers (4+ with a +2 bonus if you GTG). The rule of 3+ cover for a fortification is a general default case that does not apply here.
