BE'LAKOR

I started collecting Khorne soo long ago, It was well before 6th and well before I knew how limiting such a heavily themed army can be, as soon as 6th edition hit I started to realise how exciting psychic powers can be! but alas khorne doesn't swing that way... But now with the addition of Be'Lakor I can finally play with some powers without destroying my theme as Be'Lakor is unmarked!

Here are my thoughts on Be'Lakor:
1. Psyker. For me this is huge not only because I have never used one before but also because I feel it fills a gap and adds something new to my army that is definitely more than welcome... My main opponent runs Grey Knights and Imperial Guard, he has 4 Shadowswords and loves Taunting me with his destroyer weapons... we will see who is Laughing when Be'Lakor uses puppet master to make them all blow each other up! I also see huge benefits with Invisibility helping to conceal my FMCs and Hallucination will be fun to use on his grey knights... cant wait to watch a squad of purifiers tear themselves apart! not to mention Psychic Shriek helping to weaken any units Be'Lakor charges!

2. Eternal Warrior. Again for me this is huge, as I said my main opponent runs grey knights so i have to deal with force weapons every single battle. I have always been afraid to charge his units because he only needs that 1 wound to say bye bye bloodthirster! well now Be'Lakor can show the grey knights that he is not afraid! I am confident that this will result in Be'lakor dominating many of the combats i find him in because without their force weapons the small units of grey knights I face will be severely outmatched

3. Fire Magnet. I think one of the most likely situations / battlefield roles I will find Be'Lakor in is a fire magnet. When my opponent learns of how big a threat Be'Lakor is im sure he will focus fire, Ground him and then destroy him, this will however take a substantail commitment due to Be'Lakor being shrouded with a potentially Grimoired 2++ Here is hoping my opponent focus on him a lil too much allowing me other FMCs a clear path to wherever they need to go and allowing my Bloodletters to remain relatively unharmed.

BATTLEFIELD ROLES

Daemon Princes: These guys are for taking down enemy Vehicles, and non fearless troops, they pack enough punch to wipe out most vehicles with ease and have high enough initiative that they will cut must troops down in a sweeping advance

Be'Lakor: As above, mostly used to act as an extremely durable fire magnet, also uses puppet master to make anyone with destroyer weapons facepalm as they destroy their own units. Be'Lakor also makes a great Warlord hunter as there are not a great deal of Warlords that could defeat him in a challenge.

Bloodthirsters: These are my swiss army Daemons, Pretty good at taking out just about everything they also serve as great distractions as they tend to have people hitting the panic button when they have 3 of these within charge range turn 2

Bloodletters / Portalglyph: This are the guys that actually win the game for me, Hold them in reserves so they are safe then deepstrike them onto the objectives, if there is some nice Terrain I will drop the portalglyph early to maximise the number of scoring units I can have on the table if not hang on till the last minute a drop it behind enemy lines for backfeild objectives and linebreaker.

CURRENT TACTICS

D-Weapons
While the addition of Escalation has upset most people and many many armies have no way to handle D-Weapons and super heavies I am not actually that worried. For the first 3 or so turns my entire army is FMCs that cannot be targeted by most D-Weapons and Almost every unit in my army can strike at S10 in Combat so taking down a 9 hull point Baneblade is not too much to ask as I will strike its weaker Rear armor, I think the people who need to be worried are gunline armies.

Fear I love playing the Player vs Player battle almost as much as the Army vs Army battle, what I mean by this is things like scaring the opponent with the rapid moving FMCs, put them somewhere the opponent doesn't want them and watch the rest of their tactics take a back seat as they panic to destroy the immediate threat! this works better on people I have never versed before but it is still fun regardless.

Well that is about it for my thoughts on Be'Lakor, My new list and my general tactics! what do you guys think? what are some of your thoghts on Be'Lakor, Escalation, Super Heavies etc? if there are any other hevily themed khorne players out there I would love to see your lists / tactics! also make sure you check out my P&M blog here on dakka!

Thanks for reading
