Necron warriors and Immortals have no equipment and was wondering what other Necron players thought about this lack of adjustability? Yes, the Necrons have some interesting stuff in the Elite and Heavy catagories but would really like the ability to adjust equipment like the other armies.

Well, in the last codex they could take disruption fields, which basically allowed them to glance vehicles in Close Combat. Not very useful tbh. In IA12, they can take these special scarabs that work in CC and lowers the stats of your enemy. Somewhat more useful, but then again the Dark Harvest army list is more geared towards CC anyway. They don't need extra gear, tbh. Fluff wise it doesn't make that much sense - It's not really in their programming to use a grenade.

Specialisation is the general theme in Xenos troops, they are usually geared to only one good, but do it much better than their Imperium conter-part.
Imperial troops fit the archetype of "jack of all trades, master of none" whereas Xenos troops are only really built for one thing. It's the lack of flexibility which defines a Xenos troop choice I'd say.

Why? What does a Warrior need that its Gauss Flayer cannot provide?
They do not eat. They do not sleep. They do not breathe. They can simply shoot anything they would otherwise throw a grenade at, and their rifles can tear a tank apart.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |

I think necron rifles make up for most equipment, I'm not to sure (considering I play dark angels) but can't their standard weapon (equivalent to a marine bolter) glance/ penetrate most of the imperiums tanks? Plus when you 'kill' them they can simply get back up again, what more equipment could you possibly need?

Necron troops are already very cost-effective, they really don't need more flexibility, IMO.

Yes. The Gauss Flayer, which is the most common necron infantry weapon, can damage every vehicle it encounters.

Warriors are already good. They don't need improvement.

Warriors are already very versatile, need AT? Warriors have gauss, need to kill infantry? We have bolter equivalents for that. Need more infantry killing at long range (for necrons at least)? Immortals can spit tesla from afar, need to pack a punch up close and personal? Then gauss blasters on immortals are your best option. Need anything bigger and we have other specialised units for that, we have destroyers for the bigger guns, tomb blades for the more medium power weapons, deathmarks to take down heavy units with snipers, a plethora of CC units to fit whatever situation, and any bigger weapon requires tanks to carry such as the tesla destructor or particle whips

Immortals have a choice between Gauss and Tesla weapons.
You can add a Lord or Cryptek to each unit (or 2 if you have 2 royal courts), which can give your unit more wargear, albeit only with one "seargeant" unit.

All true. Warriors and Immortals as base troops are pretty dang good. The only weakness they had was no invulnerable saves and that can now be worked around with Void Shields for troops from Stronghold. If I really wanted the flexability of the IG or Space Marines I would play them. Just a momentary case of envy, it has now passed.
